UNK's Dentlinger Named Academic All-District
For a second straight season Nebraska-Kearney men’s basketball player Mike Dentlinger has been named to the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 first-team.
To be eligible for this squad, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative GPA, be a starter or key reserve and been at his/her current school for one academic year.
Finally, sports information directors vote on the makeup of the Academic All-American and All-District teams.
Dentlinger (Millard North), who holds a 3.97 GPA as a Business Administration major, now moves onto the national ballot where he could earn Academic All-American honors. Last year, he received enough votes to be named second-team Academic All-American.
On the court, the 6-6 post player is currently at 13.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. After last night’s 18-point performance vs. Emporia State, Dentlinger needs just 62 more points to become the 40th Loper to reach 1,000 career points.
